Body Detox

When they ask you to eat of fresh fruit and juices during pregnancy, they are absolutely right. Fruit and juices are not only a source of vitamins and other nutrients, but also help in flushing out the toxins from the body. Increase your intake of fruit that are rich in water content so that your skin stays hydrated and detoxified.

Also, drink a lot of water no matter how irritated you feel when you have to go pee. It is the only way to keep your skin clean and free of problems. The body needs more care from the inside than externally during pregnancy.

Properly Cleansed Skin

As we all know, cleansing the basic yet essential step in skincare. When the body changes occur, your skin type begins to vary too. You will notice the excess oil production taking place all of a sudden. Do not simply ignore it. Make sure you keep the oil, sweat and dirt at bay all the time.

Cleanse your skin thoroughly when you wake up and before going to bed. Do not wear a lot of makeup for a long time as it easily clogs the pores when your skin already feels oily. Remove makeup properly before going to bed.

Mild Exfoliation

A lot of women face acne problems during their pregnancy. It is because of the changes in the skin type which we fail to assess. The skin begins to produce excess oil due to hormonal changes occurring inside the body.

In order to keep the oil at bay, try mild exfoliation twice a week. Do not over-exfoliate or use a scrub with harsh granules. Treat your skin gently and make sure you moisturize your skin right after scrubbing every time.

Proper Use of Sunscreen

Hyper pigmentation is a very common problem that almost every other woman faces during pregnancy. The best way to keep your skin protected and prevent it from getting pigmented is to wear sunscreen ritually. Do not take sunscreen as a mere moisturizer; it is the protecting shield to your skin. The more you apply it, the better your skin will look and feel.

Make it a habit to apply a sunscreen with high SPF of 30 plus three times a day. Make sure you buy a sunblock that suits your skin type so that it doesn’t cause breakouts and you feel comfortable wearing it.

Moisturize with the Right Moisturizer

As you get pregnant, the skin often begins to feel more oily and sensitive at the same time. The best way to keep the skin healthy and properly moisturized is to get a right moisturizer. Do not start skipping it at any cost as moisturizer is essential for all skin types.

Get a nice water-based or gel-based soothing moisturizer for your skin. It will not only moisturize your skin, but also soothe down the inflammation that occurs due to the hormonal changes. You can also use aloe gel if you want to shift to organic skincare during pregnancy.

Organic Skincare

As I already mentioned, the skin tends to get a little sensitive during pregnancy and it reacts easily. Using different chemical-infused skincare products may cause or aggravate your skin problems like acne and pigmentation.

The best way to pamper your skin during pregnancy is to use herbal and organic ingredients. Add soothing ingredients to your skincare like aloe vera, tea tree oil, neem and yogurt. Apply DIY masks once a week instead of using the high-end ones.

Proper Sleep

Pregnant women find it difficult to sleep at night because of the back pain and body posture issues. Sleep is extremely important for keeping the skin beautiful and healthy. The skin under your eyes immediately tells about your sleeping schedule.

Here is an easy tip for you to sleep peacefully: Apply a tad bit of lavender oil in your palms, feet and temples and massage your skin. The scent and soothing sensation of the oil helps relax the body and mind and makes it easier for you to fall asleep.

Take at least 7 to 8 hours of undisturbed sleep daily and try to keep all the gadgets away when heading to bed for sleep. Do not compromise the time when you are supposed to be in bed relaxing your eyes. Apply a rejuvenating serum on your skin before sleeping as it helps prevent skin problems and paces up the regeneration process of the skin.

Well done! That’s all to keep your skin glowing.
